Take one part nationally respected lawyer, one part accomplished jazz pianist, vocalist, composer and arranger; and two parts devoted husband and father; throw in a dash of provocative wit; and stir in some all-purpose Midwestern common sense and approachability, and you have the key ingredients of David Gurwin’s recipe for blawg fodder.
When he is not performing professionally, composing music or working on a new album, Gurwin is negotiating transactions for his clients and helping them keep pace with the rapidly changing laws that shape the entertainment and technology industries.
His spirited miniature schnauzer, Daisy, Gurwin is also a fan of Carnegie Mellon University, where he teaches a course on Law & the Arts in CMU’s Heinz College and lectures about the law and business of the video game industry in CMU’s Entertainment Technology Center.
He is on the Boards of Directors of The Pittsburgh Technology Counsel and Pittsburgh Community Broadcasting Corporation. He previously served as President of the Hampton Township School Board in Allison Park, Pennsylvania.
